“We will grow into the leaders of tomorrow one choice at a time”
In the summer of 2024, 6000 Guides and Scouts between 16 and 22 years old will take part in Roverway, an international camp in the midst of Norway’s majestic mountains, beautiful fjords, and large valleys.
The participants’ unforgettable experience will be guided by our motto “NORTH of the Ordinary” – not only in a geographical sense. But in every regard, we aim for the extraordinary, ranging from food delivery, to programme and campfire.
By gathering 6000 unique individuals to get empowered by one another and by nature, we forge the path to become the leaders of tomorrow. That is NORTH of the Ordinary.

Guiding Themes
Roverway 2024 will be guided by the following three themes:
The leaders of tomorrow: For everyone participating, Roverway 2024 will be a space of empowerment and developing one’s skills and confidence. Participants will be given the space to stand up for important topics and engage in dialogue with other Scouts and Guides, and thereby develop as a person and future leader.
Physical and mental empowerment: Norway’s nature has a calming effect on the body and mind. The rough, natural environment itself might be a new challenge to the participants, especially those who have never gone this far north! We also want to use the occasion of Roverway to discuss topics of mental health and normalise conversations about it within our communities. Maybe we can make talking about our mental health something that is not so out of the ordinary anymore.
Inclusion: Our movement is the world’s largest group of friends. We meet across national borders, cultures, religions, skin colour, gender, sexual orientation, social background, (dis)ability and many more. At Roverway, together, we will challenge the barriers imposed on others on the basis of different forms of discrimination. It is everyone’s responsibility to contribute to a Roverway that is free of bullying, discrimination and exclusion.
Paths + Main Camp = Roverway
Along the lines of these three themes, the participants will get to know many other (Guiding and Scouting) cultures through thousands of other Rangers and Rovers from Europe and beyond. The adventure will start on different paths that will take the participants to different places across Norway, exploring the nature, culture and history of the country. The paths will then end with the main camp in the Stavanger area, where an exciting programme, guided by our themes, will await the participants
By Rovers for Rovers
Roverway is made by Rovers for Rovers! We are lucky to have a number of Rover Representatives (RoverReps) on board! RoverReps are part of the participants of the different country contingents for Roverway 2024, who may take part in the organisation of the contingent and help the contingent management team. They can get involved with preparation activities and take responsibilities, and shape how the Roverway will look like!
Let’s go NORTH of the Ordinary!
